The Complete Self-Guided Workplace Toolkit

I created this toolkit for people who know that something about work is not quite working for them, but are not necessarily sure what the barrier is, what they need or what could actually help. You might already know some of the things you find difficult, you might have lots of ideas but struggle to know where to start, you might be thinking about reasonable adjustments, or, you might simply want to understand yourself and the way you work a little better.

The toolkit takes you through the same simple process across three worksheets.

01 What Makes Me Work Well?

We start by looking at what is actually getting in the way through 5 stages: Notice, Impact, Need, Explore and Experiment.

02 Is It Helping?

Then we come back and look at what happened when you actually tried it, because something sounding helpful, and something actually being helpful for you are not always the same thing.

You will look at what has changed, what feels easier, what is still taking energy and whether the strategy or adjustment is reducing the barrier.

03 What's Next?

Finally, you will keep track of what you are learning, including what you want to continue, what is partly helping but needs to be adapted, what you need more time to explore and what is not working and needs to change. Then you can come back around and review things again.

This is not about finding the perfect system or suddenly having everything figured out. It is about giving yourself a bit of structure to get curious about what is happening, try different things and gradually build a better understanding of what helps you work well.

You can work through the toolkit completely independently, use it to help you prepare for conversations at work, or use what you discover as a starting point if you decide you would like some additional support later.

You do not need to complete everything at once. Take what is useful, come back to it when you need it and make it work for you.
